- Jacob LAYDEN

  1.             Jacob is a transplant from Milwaukee, WI.  As a player he won a high school state championship at Marquette High             and two second place, at 15s and 18s, open level JO finishes with his club team (Northshore) Milwaukee Volleyball             Club. Jacob continued his volleyball career at Boston College where he played on the club team.  He was the New                 England Volleyball Collegiate Volleyball League (NECVL) player of the year and a NIRSA (national) All American.  He             continues to play competitively at USAV adult nationals with Team Core, winning the A division last year and being             named to the all-tournament team.  Jacob started coaching while at Boston College, assisting with the women’s                 varsity team and assistant coaching with Milwaukee Volleyball club in the summers.  After graduation he was a                 head coach at Milwaukee Volleyball Club for 6 years, including guiding 3 teams to top 10 finishes at the open JO                 level. After moving to Cleveland last year Jacob coached the Phoenix 18s team and helped guide Saint Ignatius to               a high school state championship alongside Casey Marcelo.


               Grant has played 13 years of volleyball including JO with Pittsburgh VB Club  where he played on a bid winning                                nationals team in 2010 and a 5th place club division finisher at the 2011 Nationals. Grant continued his volleyball                          career in college at Miami.  In 2015 he was a NCVF All division first team honoree on Miami's Division 1-AA

                         National Championship team.  Grant was a volunteer assistant  and manager for Miami's women's varsity team                                from 2011-2015.  He has also coached JO for Borderline VB club in Oxford.  He was a 15's assistant coach from                                  2011-14 and a 17's head coach in 2014-15.  Grant was also a Skills Clinic coach in 2014-15 and does private                                      lessons.


                         Kevin was a standout player during his high school career at Walsh Jesuit, racking up North Division 

​                         ​honors all 4 years as a starter.  Kevin also received State recognition in his final two seasons, including All State                            honorable mention as a junior and 2nd team setter as a senior. Kevin's JO playing career spanned 6 years, 4 of                                those with Northcoast and the final 2 with Southwest, where as the setter, his team finished 5th in the nation.                                Kevin continued his stellar career at the collegiate level for Ohio University's club team finishing 9th at Nationals                          in 2008-09 and 25th in 2009-10.  Kevin has coached at the high school level for a few seasons. He was an                                        assistant coach  for Gilmore Academy's regional runner-up squad in 2009 and is currently the assistant varsity                              coach at St. Ignatius High School. Kevin got his first taste of JO coaching last season when he guided the                                          Northern Ohio Boys team to a 36th place finish at nationals.           


               Casey  has been the head coach at St. Ignatius High School since 2008 where his teams have qualified for the                                  state tournament for 8 consecutive years.  In 2012 Casey was named North Region Coach of the Year and served                              as the Ohio High School Boys VB Assoc. President from 2013-15. Casey is CAP-1 & Cap-2  certified in the USA VB                              Coaching accreditation program.  Casey was an OVR high performance coach from 2008-11 and a USA VB High                                  Performance coach from 2012-15.  He has coached JO boys VB with Southwest and AVC in previous years where                                his teams finished 5th at Nationals in 2008 and 4th at Nationals in 2012.   


               ​John has been involved in volleyball as a player or coach for the last 25 years. He played at The Ohio State                                        University on the club level.  He coached for 4 years at Triway HS.  John has coached JO the last 7 seasons for                                  Wooster Elite and Ohio Storm were he took two teams to the AAU Nationals in Florida.  He is currently the                                        Varsity assistant coach at Northwestern High School in Wayne County.  John and his sons, who live in the Wooster                          area in Wayne County, are passionate about volleyball.

                       ​Stacy was a 4 year starter for the Baldwin-Wallace Men's Club Team. He has over 15 years of coaching                                                experience with boys and girls CYO and club teams. He has coached at Northcoast Volleyball Club, Southwest                                    Volleyball Club and for the last 3 years was with AVC.
